Founder John Jay:
"Providence has been pleased to give this
one connected country to one united people
. . . descended from the same ancestors,
speaking the same language, professing the
same religion, attached to the same
principles of government, very similar in
their manners and customs, and who . . .
fighting side by side throughout a long
and bloody war, have nobly established
their general liberty and independence."
"In the book of Nehemiah (Chapter 4),
we learn that border security is so important that the
people of Jerusalem were told to rebuild
the wall "with a tool in one hand, and a sword in the other hand".
Christians are supposed to be charitable, but not foolish. If
someone comes to your door and asks for water, give them water --
and food, and a coat, if they need it. But, if someone breaks into
your house, you don't adopt them!" --
Tom Kovach - Candidate for Congress, 5th Dist.

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who
comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself
to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else,
for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of
creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the
man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an
American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says
he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at
all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this
excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and
civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a
nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language
here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but
one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1919 in a letter to the American Defense
Society, 10 years after his presidency.
FYI
June 6, 1944
On June 6, 1944, almost 62 years ago, American,
British, and Canadian forces totaling about 200,000
men, stormed the beaches of Normandy in what has
been called the largest invasion in history.
On May 1, 2006,
foreign nationals and their Quisling supporters,
yelling in foreign languages (mostly Mexican/Spanglish),
marching under foreign flags (mostly Mexican)
stormed the streets of Los Angeles with forces
totaling an estimated 500,000 people, 2-1/2 times as
many as we put ashore in 1944.
Someone please tell
me how anyone can think we are not being invaded.
"A man who thinks of himself as belonging to a
particular national group in America has not yet
become an American, and the man who goes among you
to trade upon your nationality is not a worthy son
to live under the Stars and Stripes." Woodrow Wilson, U.S.
President
"As a nation with a long history of
immigration and commitment to the rule of law, this country must set
limits on who can enter and then credibly enforce our immigration
law."
U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform (1995)
Ben Franklin said this:
"...Why should Pennsylvania, founded by the English, become a Colony
of Aliens, who will shortly be so numerous as to Germanize us
instead of our Anglifying them, and will never adopt our Language or
Customs, any more than they can acquire our Complexion..."
"Americans should be told that diseases long
eradicated in this country – tuberculosis, leprosy,
polio, for example – and other extremely contagious
diseases have been linked directly to illegals," Rep. J.D. Hayworth, R-Ariz., told the Business
Journal of Phoenix. "For example, in 40 years, only 900
persons were afflicted by leprosy in the U.S.; in the past three
years, more than 7,000 cases have been presented."

"First, our cities will not be
flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill,
the present level of immigration remains substantially the same....
Secondly, the ethnic mix will not be upset…. Contrary to the charges
in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with
immigrants from any one country or area." - Ted Kennedy (D-MA)
assuring voters in 1965 that the passage of the Immigration Act
could not change America's ethnic balance.
"...If liberals think Iraqis are genetically incapable of pulling
off even the most rudimentary form of democracy, why do they believe
50 million Mexicans will magically become good Americans, imbued in
the nation's history and culture, upon crossing the Rio Grande?
Maybe we should dunk Iraqis in the Rio and see what happens...."
