1.
Mike Huckabee wants to
grant illegal alien minors in-state college tuition rates and
scholarships while legal minors from other states must pay the
higher, out-of-state rates. As Governor of Arkansas, he went out of
his way to
provide office space on government property with taxpayer money to a
Mexican Consulate that he invited into Little Rock. The primary
Consulate function is issuing consular matricula identification
cards to illegal aliens. Just two years ago, Mr. Huckabee appeared
before the open-borders Hispanic group, The League of United Latin
American Citizens (LULAC), preaching an open-door policy. According
to the Arkansas News Bureau, Mr. Huckabee also criticized state
legislation requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and
enhanced reporting of illegal aliens as un-Christian, un-American,
irresponsible and anti-life not to mention "inflammatory,"
"race-baiting" and "demagoguery."
See
Mr. Huckabee's 'touch-back amnesty plan' here.
Just last year, Mr. Huckabee lambasted opponents of the bipartisan "shamnesty"
bill providing a mass pardon to illegal aliens as "driven by racism
or nativism." He called strict immigration enforcement the kind he
now supports "sheer folly" in his campaign-timed book released
earlier this year.
He
actively invited the Mexican government to establish a consulate in
Arkansas giving its office a $1 per year special office space
rate so that its foreign officials could start dispensing
security-undermining matricula consular ID cards to illegal aliens
for banking and employment purposes. And he's not only for
government in-state illegal alien discounts, he's for expanding them
far beyond what the federal DREAM Act proposed.
NumbersUSA Executive Director Roy Beck called Huckabee "an
absolute disaster on immigration as governor. Every time there was
any enforcement in his state, he took the side of the illegal
aliens." Read the story

2. Rudy Giuliani
sued in Federal Court to overturn legislation that would have helped
stop some of the incentives for illegal aliens to come here,
thereby protecting illegal aliens in New York City from the law and
in 1996 said, "If
you come here and you work hard and you happen to be in an
undocumented status, you're one of the people who we want in this
city (reference
video);
3. John McCain along
with Senator Ted Kennedy
sponsored the largest amnesty proposal ever submitted before
Congress and only the actions of millions of average voters
opposed to illegal immigration prevented this massive citizenship
give-a-way. In an interview with the New Yorker, he
irritatedly dismissed immigration concerns in Iowa as marginal and
irrational just a bunch of "senior citizens" in Iowa caught up in
the "emotion" of a cultural assault;
4.
Mitt Romney
allowed sanctuary cities to flourish within Massachusetts during
his tenure as Governor and employed
a landscaping company that utilized illegal alien labor.
Tom Tancredo endorsed Mr. Romney when he recently exited the race
but, according to Congressman Tancredo's announcement, he is basing
his endorsement on What Mr. Romney SAID he WILL DO instead of what
he HAS DONE. Mitt Romney told NBC's "Meet the Press" on December 16,
just four days before the endorsement, that illegal aliens "should
be able to sign up for permanent residency or citizenship"? Watch
interview.

5. In 1998 Senator Fred
Thompson
voted for S.1723 which allowed American workers to be fired and
replaced with a foreign worker and in 2000 he voted for S.2045, a
foreign worker bill to nearly triple the number of foreign high-tech
workers. According to
VDare, Thompsons record, as the Republican Senator
from Tennessee =
C-.
6.
Congressman Ron Paul has repeatedly introduced legislation to
end the practice of granting birthright citizenship to the children
of illegal aliens. He is a staunch supporter of enforcing
current Federal laws and wants the states to have the authority to
enforce whatever sanctions they choose against employers who hire
illegal aliens. Several of the 'national' immigration reform
groups rank Congressman Paul down for opposing the Real ID Act
(although he receives a 100% rating from FAIR) that
would require ALL residents of the U.S. to submit 'bio-metric
identifiers' in order to obtain driver's licenses. Dr. Paul realizes
that driver's licenses are not within the purview of the federal
government and is opposed to anything that resembles a National ID
card. U.S. Border Control praises Ron Paul for his work to
secure our borders. Ron Paul has also voted to require
hospitals to report illegal aliens and he voted for the border
fence. NOTE: We link to Congressman
Paul's campaign website because he has never voted contrary to what
he talks about now.
7. Duncan Hunter has also
been consistent regarding the issue of protecting Americans from
illegal immigration. He receives a 100% rating from FAIR.
He has voted to require hospitals to report illegal aliens they
treat to continue to receive federal funding, supported the border
fence and voted to halt Mexican trucks from being allowed on our
highways.
8. Senator Hillary Clinton
voted in favor of the 2007 S-2611 McCain/Kennedy Amnesty
Plan and doesn't believe anyone can even be 'illegal' as evidenced
by this remark while in Las Vegas:
A man shouted through an opening in the wall that his wife was
illegal. "No woman is illegal," Clinton said, to cheers.
Senator Clinton receives a grade of D- regarding her votes on
illegal immigration.
9. Barak Obama
voted in favor of S-2611, the 2007 McCain/Kennedy Amnesty Plan.
He has also voted in favor of increasing chain-migration calling it
'family re-unification plans'.
10. John Edwards receives a
career grade of D from Americans for Better Immigration.
He has supported amnesties and increasing in foreign workers.
He has opposed
work-place enforcement raids that he says "separate children
from parents" and says that "undocumented workers deserve the same
rights as American workers."
Sadly, only two candidates out of the field of 10 above (Duncan
Hunter and Ron Paul) have been
consistent in his defense of U. S. Citizens and legal residents.
While we don't encourage anyone to be a 'one-issue voter', we do
encourage everyone who realizes what a threat illegal immigration is
to our culture, economy and security to weigh this issue accordingly
when deciding which candidates to support in the upcoming elections.
